Have you ever been frustrated by a task, you struggle, grunt, curse and then someone hands you the right tool and voila` it is clear and easy? If you didn't even know the tool existed then it is like a miracle. This what LearningMethods™ is like for problems. It is a perfect tool for finding clarity around anxiety, stresses, anger and other experiences of trouble. Situations may not immediately change but with LearningMethods™:
The situation's potency is diffused.
The grip of fear is eased.
The snarl of confusion and decisions unraveled.
The enmeshing of relationships clears.
The deflation of procrastination inflates.
As you use this powerful tool the next step to take toward ease and clarity shows up.
LearningMethods™ is precise method of inquiry. Name the problem. Find a moment when it is occurring. Lay out the ingredients of the problem as it happens in the moment. It is like finding the recipe for the fear, the confusion, the withdrawal or frustration-the trouble. The ingredients of a problem are all there we just can't see them. LearningMethods™ gives you tools to unveil the ingredients of the problem such as: detecting words that hide information that when uncovered give you depths of information and reveal misconceptions or gaps in the story that don't add up to the problem when viewed with precision. You find yourself skilled in asking questions. Not trying to solve the problem. First learning how to make sense of it, exposing the ingredients. That step is already a huge relief for many. Once understood you begin to discover the misconception or twist that can possibly be shifted. Lijke in cooking after you've made enough recipes you learn to look for the salt, fat, sweet and acid balance. This part of the work is like getting a manual for how the world works right from your lived experience, not from a theory or authority. At this point finding and taking the next step almost does itself.
What I have found to be the most profound by-product of the LearningMethods™ skill-set is the ability to make my own discoveries about how the world works. Instead of trying to practice an idea of how to live life, a commandment or precept, I am guided by my own system, my own inquiry. There is no striving for better. There is simple clarity of the reality of this moment as it is. Problems are no longer troublesome, they become interesting, the food for curiosity.
As you work with LearningMethods™ you can adapt the material to lesson and class situations, helping others see more clearly. Over time you will be much less likely to set-up and teach misconceptions to your students.
LearningMethods™ is the underpinning approach to the Pedagogy of Empowerment™ or Sound Music Education™ many of you have experienced with me and the work we do at VoiceCare. The tools of this material can be adapted for all kinds of teaching and coaching. It gives you the ability to get to the root of interferences and back to the skill building and learning at hand.
LearningMethods™ can help you find strategies to change understand and change experiences like:
being afraid to sing
getting anxious easily
having painful feet
getting headaches often
never having enough time
feeling burned out
not exercising when you want to
being afraid to make a mistake
